Luca Passani of OpenWave and the WURFL & WALL projects has put together a great overview of best practices on how to develop for the Mobile web using XHTML-MP.
This is clearly a huge endeavor and one that I’m please to see that he has undertook. His motivation…
This document clearly makes a point that authors/developers should turn to adaptation for the creation of usable mobile sites.
Amen!
If you are looking to dive into mobile web design or development, make this your first stop.

A word of warning for anyone reading this; it’s a bit confusing, mostly in terminology. Make sure you read it really carefully at the beginning to really get what he’s recommending. I struggled with it quite a bit, and without Brian here to translate I’d have been really lost — and I’m pretty close to the target audience for this.
Keith, GAP wants to be what W3C BP failed to be, so I had to give it the feel of a W3C style recommendation. Having said this, if you have feedback about the language/terminology, I would be more than happy to hear it. I am not a mother-tongue english speaker…
