So I’m heading down to Portland for the long weekend and I was reading through some of my feeds and I noticed my good friend Adam Duvander just added a great new mobile feature to WifiPDX—Text WifiPDX.
If you’re not familiar with the service, WifiPDX is a site dedicated to helping you quickly locate the nearest wifi hotspots in the Portland area. By adding the ability to text the service he’s taken the context of mobile in a perfect direction providing you with just the information you need quickly while you’re out and about.
I definitely plan on trying it out while I’m down there and if you’re a Portland resident or are vacationing down there let me know how it works for you. Also, does anyone else know of any similar services out there using SMS in this way? I know Starbucks offers this mobile website, but I really love the simplicity of SMS texting.
