Flavlets for 9/7

This week was a slow one as far as interesting things to point to on The Internets. It was pretty obvious this week that the summer season is officially over. Distractions were at a low and the phone ringing off the hook. So begins the ramp up to the end of the year.

I actually got my first Christmas catalog this week! That just isn’t right.

A client project that we did earlier this year called Tipped launched this week. It is a UK-based city directory which we are very proud of. This was the first project Garrett did for us, building the entire backend in Rails. Plus it includes a kick-ass mobile site designed by Kevin.

Nick was interviewed over at Designinterviews.com. He talks mainly about information architecture and goes into quite a bit of detail about what it means to be an information architect and how much IA matters to the web design process. Good stuff.

The Mobile 2.0 site officially went live and is accepting registrations. Last year the event sold out in a week, so be sure to register quickly. Brian will be moderating the User Experience, Usability, and Design panel.

Earlier this week Khoi Vinh and Liz Danzico launched A Brief Message a site dedicated to short form (under 200 words) design writing. This is a concept we’ve explored in the past (the short form writing specifically) and we’re excited to see how it’s come together.

Smashing Magazine celebrated their one year anniversary this week with the first of two posts asking 50 designers 6 questions about web design. Keith was one of those questioned.

Kevin hit the tarmac pretty hard in his last race of the season. Not only did he brake his collar bone, he broke it in three places. Needless to say he’s pretty funny on all the pain killers.

Thriller prisoners are now busting a move to Electric Dream.

We’re still a few weeks away from a new season of Heros but the Yamagato Fellowship might offer some clues on where Hiro ended up at the end of last season. And don’t forget the weekly online comics.

And finally don’t forget to register for some upcoming events we will be speaking at:
