This handy Javascript tool lets you define a layout grid for your page, and then toggle it on or off during development, to help ensure everything is lining up properly.
The W3 has made public a CSS module for creating grid-based page layouts. Of course, it will be quite some times before browser makers implement this, but the concept looks good and it’s great to know the W3 is at least thinking about this element, as it’s very important to designers.
