Joe Alterio is a San Francisco based, illustrator, designer, animator and comic artist. Joe has a long history of providing cutting edge graphics and illustration for a wide variety of clients such as Adobe, Audi, Nickelodeon, Rolling Stone, and HBO.
A graduate of USC’s Film and Animation program, Joe spent years in Los Angeles working for animation houses such as Flinch Studios and Disney TV before moving to Seattle, during which time his Robo-Equality Poster series brought him his first attention from the online world. Since then, Joe as gone on to be at forefront of the mobile and web-based comics, and his offerings on both Clickwheel and his serial comic, The Basic Virus, have allowed him to speak on panels at the San Diego Comic-Con as well as the Seoul International Cartoon and Animation Festival on the subject of comics’ place in new media.
Currently, Joe lives in San Francisco with his fiancee Molly, where he runs his new project, RobotsAndMonsters.org, and works as a freelance illustrator and designer.
